Whale watching has always been a popular attraction along Maine's coastline. A "feeding ground" for these hungry, acrobatic mammals is located just 20 miles offshore, so the chance of "sightings" are extemely high! Dolphins, seals, puffins, and other aquatic creatures and sea birds can also be spotted while cruising in the Gulf of Maine.
Numerous whale watching tours are offered throughout Maine's coastal towns and cities, with the majority leaving from the Bar Harbor area. These exciting trips are both educational and great fun for the entire family!
